J. Blake Glatstein
Associate
Blake handles complex commercial bankruptcies, litigation, and appeals across several industries, including technology, real estate, and financial services. Blake develops litigation strategies tailored to his clients’ overall business objectives. Blake has represented billion-dollar businesses, family-run companies, and high-net-worth individuals as debtors, creditors, and litigants in federal and state trial and appellate courts. Blake is also a Certified as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Before joining Vartabedian Hester & Haynes, Blake worked as an associate at a large regional law firm and at a boutique litigation firm.
In his practice, Blake frequently draws upon his extensive experience as a judicial clerk and intern in federal and state courts. Blake served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rebecca Rutherford of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Blake also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, III, of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the Honorable Chief Robert Burns of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals, and the Honorable Martin Hoffman of the 68th Civil District Court of Texas.
Blake graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Barristers from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Blake received the State of Bar of Texas Excellence in Appellate Advocacy Award—an accolade given to one student from each graduating class of Texas law schools. He earned a Dean’s Scholarship for academic distinction. While in law school, Blake served on the editorial board of the SMU Law Review and the executive board of the Board of Advocates. He represented clients and won his first trial in Texas District Court as a student and Fellow in the Civil and Consumer Legal Clinic.
Before attending law school, Blake held various sales and managerial roles in big and small companies.
When Blake takes a break from his work for clients, he is a member of the William “Mac” Taylor Inn of Court, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, and the Dallas Bar Association.

- Served on a trial team representing a high-net-worth individual against a $180 MM fraudulent transfers claim. Case also involved allegations that client was the alter-ego of public and private companies.
- Assisted regional publicly traded bank with application and brief in support for a receivership. Secured a pre-judgment receivership protecting over $10 million of the bank’s collateral. The case is still pending.
- Helped represent a Trustee in a chapter 11 bankruptcy seek to recover over $40 of money lost due to directors’ and officers’ negligence. The case is still pending.
- Aided a high-net-worth individual defend against over $1 billion alleged civil RICO claims. The case is still pending.
- Represent a national company against a multimillion-dollar claim of trade secret misappropriation and violations of the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. The case is still pending.
- Represent a high-net-worth debtor to resolve claims of fraudulent transfer with a Trustee in a chapter 7 bankruptcy.
- Represent high-net-worth creditors to recover money taken by fraudulent conduct and breaches of fiduciary duty in chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies. A case is still pending.
- Served on appellate team representing a medical technology company through an interlocutory appeal after being enjoined from using their technology under claims of patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation.
- Assisted representing a financial services company against claims of trade secret misappropriation.
- Helped a multinational advertising company manage and mitigate risk from international privacy laws and cyber threats.
